I'm selling cancer miracles?

I received an email last month from a stranger, and I have to admit, this one stung a lil – the content of it is pretty horrible.

Context: I had just shared a testimony from one of my group coaching clients who received amazing news: after surgery, no cancer was found.

You can read it here. In the testimony, they shared how resting, being still, and trusting in God's goodness played a huge part in their journey. I also mentioned that this is exactly what I teach in my Snuggle Strategy mini-course. That's it. This individual, however, sent an email woven with accusation that I am "selling cancer miracles" and exploiting people.

An encouragement There’s a lot I could say, but I want to speak deliberately to those of you who are finding your voice, stepping into your calling, and fully embracing God's purpose for you: You will get messages, misunderstanding, and opposition like this. And if you're anything like me, it will catch you off guard, especially when it comes from fellow Christians. In fact, the most judgment, criticism, misunderstanding, and opposition I’ve ever received in my life has come from other Christians—and that’s sad to admit. But as you continue on your journey, you’ll reach a point where these messages no longer shake you. Instead, your first response becomes one of prayer and blessing the person who sent it – I genuinely live here now but it took a few years. As you walk out your assignment with God, know that these things will happen, but they don’t have to knock you down. I understand the pain and frustration. I’ve felt it too—there have been many times I wanted to walk away from serving Christians because it can be so disheartening. But our first response is always to God, not the people. So keep your focus on Him, be strong and courageous, and remember that despite any opposition, He has only goodness ahead for you. I know that for many, hearing and seeing raw stories like this can actually be encouraging, because it reminds them they're not alone in their journey. So I hope this encourages you, even though the initial email was intended to condemn. "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." (Rom 12:21) "Heal Your Body, Lord!" PS: I've been freely sharing about healing in my podcast for years. You can listen to those lessons here.

Questions for reflection:

1. Am I currently holding back due to fear and/or opposition? If so, how can I continue forward?

2. How does knowing that fellow believers experience the same opposition help me to keep running my race?

3. Have I blessed those who curse me and prayed for those who mistreat me? Take a moment to do so.

Bless you,

Lee
