Here are 25 lessons and reflections from 2025 in no particular order:
1. Rest isn’t the reward for obedience—it’s the starting place of sonship. It’s one of the most misunderstood truths in Christianity today because performance-based faith has been so dominant, though I’m slowly seeing it restored—even if only among a minority for now.
2. Many of our problems, stresses, and striving would lose their power if we simply learned to be still. Stillness doesn’t ignore life’s realities—it re-anchors us in God’s presence, where clarity, peace, and wisdom are restored. Learn how here.
3. Truth isn't just a concept, it's a Person—Jesus. It isn't merely about intellectual pursuit, it's about intimacy with the Person. And as you walk with the Person, freedom, peace and joy naturally follows. This is essence of the abiding life. Learn more here.
4. Freedom often feels unsettling before it feels peaceful, especially when you’re coming out of performance. That is normal, and you're not alone. Learn more here.
5. I'm convinced that fear has become the church’s most overlooked enemy today—not louder than sin, but quieter. Disguised as wisdom or holiness, it binds people under burdens Jesus never gave them.
6. Some of the hardest people to help are those bound in fear—not because fear is powerful, but because many believe they need it and therefore cling to it tightly. Sadly, many are stuck in fear loops and don't even know it. Take the FREE 2min yoke test here.
7. If something needs fear to motivate it, it isn’t being led by the Spirit. He never gave us a spirit of fear, and perfect love casts out fear. The areas of our soul that still cling to fear are usually areas that have not yet encountered the Lover of our soul. Note: This is not the same as the fear of God, which speaks of reverence, honor, and awe—not dread.
8. Peace, freedom, joy, and the light and easy yoke of Jesus often seem suspicious to a religious mindset. That doesn’t make them false—it reveals how foreign they are to performance-based thinking.
9. Those most entrenched in a religious mindsets often resist freedom the hardest—and paradoxically they are the very people I'm trying to help walk free, even when they stone me for it.
10. Emotional intensity is not the same thing as spiritual depth. Passion isn’t always loud, and loud isn’t always passion. God often whispers where religion expects Him to shout. Some of the most powerful people I know are also the quietest in the room. Learn more here.
11. Jesus is exactly what God is like, and God has always been what Jesus is like—even when that challenges what I was taught. This revelation alone has opened up more goodness than anything else. Read more here.
12. Jesus is not part of the Bible—He is the lens for all of it. If my theology doesn’t look like Him, it needs revisiting. Read more here.
13. God’s goodness doesn’t need to be protected—it needs to be trusted. Learn more here.
14. Not everyone who speaks spiritually is speaking from the Spirit. Tone often reveals more than terminology.
15. I stopped measuring faithfulness by visible outcomes. Some of the deepest obedience produces fruit underground first.
16. My identity is most tested when my gifting is misunderstood, and most strengthened when I stay rooted anyway. Read more here.
17. I don’t need to defend my assignment to those who were never called to walk it.
18. Not every accusation deserves a response. Some are invitations to remain rooted rather than react.
19. Spiritual maturity looks quieter than I expected—less urgency, more discernment, fewer explanations.
20. Boundaries don’t repel the right people—they reveal them. What leaves when I get clear was never meant to stay. Learn more here.
21. Desires redeemed by delight become direction. God works through desire far more than we realize, especially when desire is healed rather than suppressed. Learn more here.
22. Provision flows more freely when I stop performing for it. Anxiety dries up what trust makes room for.
23. My job isn’t to carry people—it’s to walk with those who are willing to walk. This has been a sobering lesson for me after years of carrying a subtle savior complex.
24. The people who resonate with rest will recognize rest. The rest will resist it.
25. The two most important traits for growing in the kingdom are humility and courage—humility to let go of what you thought was true and courage to step into what’s being revealed, even when it feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar. Learn more here.
Many blessings to you and yours in 2026.
Bless you,
Lee
